Okay, so I know this is a photography blog. And we will have a ton more blogs on photos coming up! We’ve been doing a lot of portrait shoots, had a busy July of weddings and events and of course, good old personal moments with friends. Plus, we’re getting ready for Sprout. We’re so close! While we’re a photography blog, I know there’s a lot of us that are reflecting on where we are, how things are going around us and where we want to be. So forgive me for taking the time to share my thoughts with you. Supposedly, my excuse is this part of pregnancy leaves you re-evaluating who you are and day dreaming about your little one. I’m definitely doing both! I hope you enjoy these moments of our journey with us. I know this incredible baby will redefine who we are as individuals, strengthen our need to work as a team and definitely influence our photography. We can’t wait for every second of it!
We’re at a stage in pregnancy where Andrew read that the baby can now move to the rhythm of music. So of course, we had to transition from our story telling and simply talking with Sprout to some music listening. We took the headphones, put them around my belly and waited to see what Sprout thought of the music traveling through my womb to Sprout’s little ears. We started with some good old modern pop with The Temper Trap. Sprout hung out, a punch here or there, nothing different from a daily movement. Then we tried some modern worship from Telecast. Same thing…not overly rockin’ out. Okay, how about some hip hop…a little more shuffle…Coldplay…about the same as hip hop. Okay, let’s try some instrumental. Both Andrew and I have an appreciation for classical, jazz, instrumental music that truly displays the musicality of an artist. Chris Botti is a family favorite. He’s an incredibly talented trumpet player who does things with the trumpet you didn’t think a trumpet could do. Some dear friends of ours (one of our wedding couples from about 2 years ago) the McQueens, took us to a Chris Botti concert in San Diego where we heard the song Emmanuel, a beautiful duet with Chris Botti and a prodigy violinist. It was gorgeous. Sprout thought so too! We have never seen this baby move so much in my womb! Sprout was lovin’ it. Punching and kicking in rapid fire! We thought, maybe it’s a fluke. So we’ll try again the next night. The next night…same thing! Sprout really is a classical music maniac. I wonder if we have a prodigy on our hands. Spoken like a true parent, right?
