Welcome to The Caldwells Photography Blog. We are the husband and wife team of Andrew and Anjula Caldwell. We thought it would be better if you got to know us through each other. First, Anjula’s description of Andrew. Second, Andrew’s description of Anjula. We wrote these separately and put up our first drafts so you get the true impression of who we are.

Anjula’s thoughts on Andrew

Where do I even begin to describe my husband? He is a man of great integrity, great passion, great vision and great jokes! Okay, maybe I indulged a little on the jokes. Or maybe it’s just because I think I’m funnier. HA

I am a better person because of him. He lets me express myself even when I ramble on and on and on and on! He corrects me when I’m wrong, in love. He listens. He cares. He encourages. He’s patient when I’m stubborn. He’s strong when I’m weak. He’s the ying to my yang. I had to say it. He always lets me know how much he loves me. And I usually comment back with something equally sweet, like, “Hallmark called and wants their cheezy line back.” Yes, I know, loving and original. Deep inside though, I become weak in the knees and the butterflies I felt when we first met come fluttering back. Everyone loves to be loved and he knows how to show me, through who he is, how much he truly loves me.

He is a big kid who owns responsibility. Oxymoron, sure, but he’s my oxymoron! I wouldn’t change his playful and youthful side for anything. When I’m lost in the adult world, he always knows how to break out the light hearted side of life and throw down on the Wii! Watch out Ping Pong! Stand back, Forrest Gump is on the scene! In the midst of the fun, he always manages to remind me that we’re in it together. Always. Fun, hardship, joy, sorrow, we’re a team.

He strives to always be better than he was yesterday. He chases after what matters to him…that’s why we’re together…wait, I asked him out first, anyway. He puts his heart in everything he does and never lets anyone tell him he can’t do something. We have the privilege of doing what we love every day because he never hesitates to take a chance. It shows in his photography, in his friendships and in his life. I love him with everything that I am.

There is little more incredible than being able to live your passion with your husband. My life is complete with him in it. Through our Lord we can do anything together and we do. My husband rocks! I am his biggest fan and hope you take the time to get to know him too.

Andrew’s thoughts on Anjula

My wife and my BFFTTDID (Best friend forever till the day I die)

Anju is the best wife in the world, ever.  So guys no matter what, the best you can do is 2nd.  This is not debatable so don’t even try.

She is a mighty woman of God and she inspires me to be a better man of God.

Her eyes are amazing…unless she’s got that look in her eye that she gets when I do or say something stupid..then they’re even more amazing!   (This happens often.)

People seek her advice on things because she gives the best, to-the-point, cut you deep if you need it, build you up if you need it, kind of advice.  I know because I spend all of my time with her and she’s quick to share it…Even if I don’t want it, I usually need it..

She has a laugh that will light up your face!  Every once in a while she’ll uncork the most unbelievable laugh you’ve ever heard.  It’s freakin’ loud and if you weren’t laughing prior to it you will instantly!  Those who have heard it know what I’m talking about.

The sexiest things she’s ever done (and continues to do) are:
#1 Shot a .45 Handgun and LOVED IT!
#2  Watches UFC with me and occasionally screams “KICK HIM IN THE HEAD!!!!!”  She knows what she’s talking about too, it’s not just some random comment.  She’ll get so ticked off if the fighters are lame, I just look at her and I hear heavenly Angels singing… I love this woman and guys I told you #1 is taken so deal with it.

She can bring a bride back from the brink like no other!

She’s intuitive, she knows what you’re thinking, and she knows when you’re hurting…Just like Jack Bauer.

She’s an exceptional photographer and makes you feel comfortable and has a way of evoking the “Real You”.

Her sarcasm may catch you off guard.  True story of the first time we talked:  I was a TA in the digital lab at our school (The Brooks Institute of Photography: Best School BTW), and I had seen her a few times in the lab.  I actually heard her first, that amazing laugh rang out and I saw she was wearing yellow (my heart fluttered).  So I was in the office one day and she comes in with that beautiful smile of hers and I eagerly say “Hi I’m Andrew!!!!”  Straight faced she replies, “That’s nice, my printer doesn’t work.”  On the way to her station she flashes her smile and says, “By the way I’m Anjula.”  She later asked me if I wanted to go to a movie and I dissed her.  We did go a couple of days later but I had to play hard to get!

Every time I say sweet things to her she points out how plagiarism is a crime and I now owe Hallmark royalties…She’ll remind me of this in public too.

She finished her description of me 15 minutes ago.  Not sure what that means… =)
